FAQ

ORDER / DELIVERY

Is it possible to change the blade or the grip on the stick I have ordered?

Answer: Of course, we can help you with this, for free! However, you need to add the blade or grip to your order before checkout. At the checkout, write your request in the field marked ‘notes’. We can also shorten the stick for you, but in that case, it is best to add an extra grip to your order so that the original grip doesn’t have to be put back on the stick. Please note that it is not possible to return a stick that has been altered with in any way (shortened, changed grip or blade etc.).

left or right sticks, what's right for me?

Answer: If you are unsure if you should buy a stick in left or right, grab a stick using both hands. If you left hand is closest to the stick, you should buy a left stick and vice versa. If you are still unsure what to buy, please email our customer service at info@klubbhuset.com

How long should my stick be?

Answer: Having the proper stick length is important if you want to become a good floorball player. The optimal length of the stick is very individual and may differ from playing styles or what you have become used to. However, a general guideline can be seen in the length-guide listed below. Please note that all lengths listed on our website are shaft lengths, not the total stick length including blade. With a blade the stick is around 10-12 centimetres longer.

Shaft lenght – player height

67cm - 110-125cm

72cm - 125-130cm

77cm - 130-135cm

82cm - 135-150cm

87cm - 150-160cm

92cm - 160-170cm

96cm - 170-185cm

100cm - 180-195cm

104cm - >190cm

Are there advantages to having a shorter or longer stick?

Answer: Depending on your playing style, a longer or shorter stick might suit you better. A defender that controls possession, starts the attacks and intercepts passes could benefit from player with a slightly longer stick. The longer stick will help you stay more upright and give you a good overview of the field. An attacking player that gets in a lot of duels in the corners and needs to protect the ball and make many quick turns might have an advantage playing with a slight shorter stick since you will be able to keep the ball closer to your body and be more agile.

What types of plasticsare the blades made from, and how are they different?
In short there are three different types of plastics for blades and these typically have a different name depending on the brand of blade.

PE (POLYETHYLENE)

Salming=Endurance / Oxdog=NB / Exel=SB

This is the most classic style of plastic for floorball blades. It has a harder feel and is easy to change the hook on. It is also the most durable.

PP (POLYPROPYLENE)

Zone=Air Soft Feel / Salming=Touch / Unihoc=Feather Light / Oxdog+Exel=MB

This plastic has a softer touch than PE, making it easier to control the ball. It is slightly lighter than PE but isn’t as stiff when shooting. The PP-plastic is more fragile and is best not to change the hook on. If you need to alter the hook it has to be heated to a higher temperature than PE.

PP+ / PPH (A mix of PP och PE)

Zone=Air Hard / Unihoc=Titan / Salming=Touch Plus

Much like the PP-plastic this has a softer feel/touch making it easy to control the ball. It is however slightly stiffer, particularly when shooting. Just like the PP-plastic this needs to be heated to a higher temperature to change the hook.

Some brands also have other ways to make their blades better or special. Oxdog has a carbon insert in some of their blades, to make the blade both lighter and stronger. These blades are called NBC, MBC and MBC2.

What is shaft flex and what flex will suit me best?

Flex is the level of stiffness of the stick/shaft. The flex is typically between 23 mm and 36 mm on most floorball sticks. The flex of the shaft is decided by placing a 30 kg weight on it and then measuring how many millimetres the shaft flexes.

A shaft with a flex around 23-25 mm is very stiff shaft for adults, while a stick with a flex of 32-26 mm is a soft shaft mainly used by kids/juniors.

What flex best suits you is very individual. How you shoot and how much bodyweight is placed on the stick while shooting affects what flex you should use.

A flex around 24-26 mm suits an adult man that applies a lot of weight and pressure on the shaft when shooting. If you are not as strong a flex of 27-28 mm will suit you well.

Adult women usually benefit from playing a slightly softer flex, around 27-30 mm.

Juniors should play with a flex around 27-32 mm, depending on playing style and age. The youngest players usually play a flex around 32-36 mm
